Jillian was a marine mammal trainer for 12 years and learned to breathe and dive like dolphins. For several years she crewed on a live-aboard boat in the Bahamas specializing in freediving and interacted respectfully with dolphins.  She has trained with some of the world’s top athletes such as Umberto Pelizzari, Sara Campbell, Emma Farrell, Mike Maric and William Trubridge.  In 2012, she became an instructor with Apnea Academy in Sharm el Sheikh. She is a life and performance coach, utilizing breath techniques, intuitive and experiential learning to enhance awareness, skills and techniques.  Her specialty is recreational freediving certifications while diving with marine animals on adventure retreats in the Bahamas and Hawaii. You’ll also know her from her years of dedication on the board of directors as Secretary.

Irene might be a relative newcomer to freediving, but has an extensive scuba diving and aquatic sports background. She is the first female Course Director in Quebec with teaching experience on 3 continents, and used to also teach lifeguard and first aid courses and instructor level for many years. Before that she was an international level synchronized swimming coach, coach trainer and official, with extensive experience organizing competitions and events. She hopes her experience will be an asset to the board going forward.

Jacy Peck est une passionnée d'apnée en eau douce de l'Ontario, Canada. Elle est instructrice de sirène PADI et éducatrice de la faune sauvage. Jacy a commencé son voyage en apnée en 2017 comme une méditation de guérison mentale et physique. En plus de plonger dans les grands lacs, elle utilise sa formation en éducation pour lutter pour l'eau propre et la biodiversité des grands lacs. Elle a hâte de servir la communauté de l'apnée et le conseil d'administration d'AIDA en tant que secrétaire.  

Anne-Louise a eu son premier contact avec l'apnée en regardant le film " Le Grand Bleu", mais n'a commencé à plonger en apnée qu'en 2012 lors d'un voyage en Indonésie. Elle s'est immédiatement immergée dans ce sport et a décidé, plus tard dans l'année, de devenir instructrice AIDA à Long Island, aux Bahamas.

Alors qu'elle se trouvait à Long Island pendant la célèbre compétition Vertical Blue, elle a décidé de participer à un cours de juge et a commencé son voyage en tant que juge AIDA. 

En 2015, elle a commencé à donner des cours AIDA et à enseigner le yoga à Moalboal, aux Philippines, mais elle a rapidement dû laisser derrière elle sa vie rêvée de monitrice d'apnée et revenir au Canada en raison de problèmes familiaux.

Cependant, le fait d'être juge AIDA lors de compétitions locales et majeures lui permet de faire partie de l'incroyable communauté d'apnéistes et lui donne également l'occasion de voyager et de découvrir de nombreux sites d'apnée.

Les cenotes mexicains font partie de ses sites d'apnée préférés. Elle a trouvé que l'apnée en profondeur était un moyen parfait pour détendre son corps et son esprit, relâcher les tensions et mieux gérer le stress émotionnel et environnemental. 

Roberta has been a mainstay of the Vancouver freediving community for over 15 years. One of the original founders of AIDA Canada and former president of the Vancouver Apneist Club, she has organized competitions - including Nationals - and training and recreational outings. Currently she teaches AIDA and PADI freediving courses in the Vancouver area and organizes annual pool and depth competitions in Vancouver. She is committed to the development of the sport of freediving across Canada. She will continue to be active with select projects as she transfers her regular duties to the new acting President of Aida Canada
